How To "Be SAFE"

“Be SAFE” is a voluntary SAFE Action Project initiative encouraging lodging properties and hospitality organizations to conduct SAFE training for all levels of staff and employees. “Be SAFE” participation is a no-cost process, and a relatively easy one, requiring three steps to complete.

Simple Recognition Process 1 - 2 - 3

Point of Contact Step 1

Designate a SAFE liaison for your organization.
This individual will be the designated SAFE liaison, responsible for coordinating your training and education efforts with SAFE staff.

Staff Trainings Step 2

Train at least 75% of your organization’s staff members, based on a mid-line estimate of total number of employees.

Embed Step 3

Commit to implement SAFE training information into your new-hire process, or through an annual training update for your staff.
This is a requirement to keep your “Be SAFE” recognition each year.

Once an organization has completed these three steps, the SAFE Action Project will recognize your organization’s achievement in the following ways:

  • Letter from Arizona Anti-Trafficking Network
  • Presentation of a “Be SAFE” certificate, confirming the above referenced level of participation
  • Promotion via our SAFE website, listing your property under “Be SAFE” Participants
  • Optional inclusion in potential SAFE media opportunities
